Our Community driven project started due to the immense demand to house and feed the destitute, the homeless, abused woman and children, recovering substance abusers, street children, prostitutes, parolees and the dysfunctional.

We keep the moral of these people in high spirits via the following programmes:
Bible study, Prayer groups, Youth activities, various outings and excerptions.

We are a registered public benefit organisation and non-profit organisation. We also provide other welfare organisations with food on a daily basis. We house +/- 20 parolees from Correctional Services at any given time.

     
 

Shekinah Care Centre – Brakpan +/- 40 people
The Haven Care Centre - Town Centre- Houses 35 people
New Beginnings Food Distribution & Care Centre- Boksburg
500 people are receiving housing and our support in the following way :
Clothing - Find Jobs – Counseling – education - schooling
Drug & alcohol rehab - Family reconciliation – safe haven for the abused – skills training - little lambs crèche / aftercare.

This Community driven project started due to the dire position many needy people in the community faced. New Beginnings Care Centre offers a sanctuary to those who are destitute. We are a registered public benefit organisation and non profit organisation. We cater for the following:

A. Multi Cultural / Racial Community consisting of:

- Street Children

- Destitute

- Prostitutes

- Substance abused

- Dysfunctional

- Parolees

- Abused Women and Children

 B. Inhabitant "Make-up"

+/- 50% Black inhabitants

+/- 72 Single women and single women with children

+/- 25% White inhabitants

+/- 49 Families - mother, father and children

+/- 20% Coloured inhabitants

+/- 200 single men

+/- 5% Other

+/- 80 Children - 3 weeks to 18 years


Currently there are approximately 500 people (incl. Children) that are cared for in the following way:

- Housing / Clothing

- Find jobs

- Counselling

- Drug and Alcohol Rehab

- Schooling

- Education

- Family reconciliation

- Skills Training

- "Safe Haven" for abused


New Beginnings Care Centre is housed in the "Old Women's Prison" in Commissioner Street Boksburg and Shekinah Care Centre - Brakpan, The Haven Care Centre - Town Centre Leeuwpoort Street, New Beginnings Food Distribution Centre - gives daily food for other Welfare Organisations and poor people. We are working with Ekurhuleni Metro Department of Health and Social Welfare in projects to house the destitute. We are currently working with Correctional Services also housing +- 20 parolees at any given time.

D. Upliftment / Education

We have a crèche that caters for our children. Crèche children being prepared up to Grade R

Our pre-school teachers are being trained in our Skills Training Centre.

We have a Computer Training Schools +- 96 students being trained free of charge.

Boksburg College provides for Bursaries.

E. Alcohol / Drug Rehabilitation

-

+- 70% of our centre suffer from substance abuse problems.

We work with SANCA who do our "De-Tox" programme.

We provide for ongoing support through weekly group meetings and counselling.
